How can we help?
Getting started
What is Bookeley?
Bookeley publishes a brand-new illustrated, narrated storybook every day, in six languages. Stories are written for two age groups — 3–7 and 8–12 — and each one is read aloud so children can follow along.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. After you complete onboarding, your first 3 days are free: the book of the day is free to read, and a new one is published each day — no account and no payment details required.
Browsing the library is always free. After 3 days, reading requires a subscription.
This free period is not the same thing as the 3-day free trial on the paid plans: the free period requires no payment method, the trial does. The free period is granted once.
Which languages do you support?
Turkish, English, Spanish, German, French and Arabic. Every book is available in all six, both as text and as narration.
You can change the language at any time from Settings → Language.
What age groups is the App suitable for?
Bookeley offers content designed for two age groups: 3–7 and 8–12. You set your child's age group during onboarding, and you can change it later from Settings.
Subscriptions
What plans are available?
| Plan | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Book of the Day | The book published each day |
| Full Library | The full library, including all past books |
Each plan can be paid monthly or annually. Annual billing costs the equivalent of eight months for twelve months of access.
Current prices are shown in the App and vary by country.
How does the free trial work?
All paid plans include a 3-day free trial.
Starting a trial requires a payment method registered with your App Store or Google Play account. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your chosen plan is charged automatically.
Each user is entitled to one trial. Apple and Google determine eligibility.
How is the annual plan charged?
Annual plans are charged in full and in advance, as a single payment — not in monthly instalments. The App Store or Google Play will show you the exact amount and renewal date before you confirm.
How do I cancel my subscription?
iPhone / iPad: Settings → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Bookeley → Cancel Subscription.
Android: Google Play Store app → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Bookeley → Cancel subscription.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep access until then.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies — we cannot process them directly.
Apple: go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account. Google: open the Google Play Store, find the purchase in your order history and request a refund.

How do I delete my account?
In the App: Settings → Delete My Account.
You will be asked to confirm, and to answer a simple question to prevent accidental deletion. Once confirmed, your profile, reading history, favourites and preferences are erased permanently.
⚠️ Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. These are two separate things. If you have an active subscription, cancel it from the App Store or Google Play first — see the steps above.
If you cannot delete your account from within the App, write to us at bookeley@startabas.com and we will do it for you.
What data do you hold about me?
See our Privacy Policy for the full picture. In short: your child's age group and language preference, your favourites, and your subscription status. There is no sign-in, so we hold no email address, no name and no phone number.
We show no advertising, use no tracking, and never sell your data.
How do I request my data or exercise my rights?
Write to bookeley@startabas.com. We respond within 30 days.
Troubleshooting
The audio won't play
Check that your device is not muted and that the volume is up. If the problem persists, close the App fully and reopen it. Narration is streamed, so a stable internet connection is needed the first time you open a book.
A book won't load
This is usually a connection issue. Check your internet, then close and reopen the App. If a specific book still fails to load, let us know which one and we will look into it.
I paid but the App still shows me as unsubscribed
Purchases can take a few minutes to register. If it has been longer, try Settings → Membership → Restore Purchases, or close and reopen the App.
If the problem continues, write to us with the email address you used for the purchase and we will resolve it.
I was charged after cancelling
Cancellation only stops the next renewal — it does not refund the current period. If you believe you were charged in error, contact Apple or Google using the refund links above.
